PALM TREES AND POWERLINES
Palmtrees and Powerlines is a cinematic short film debuting British Brooklyn’s EP of the same name. In collaboration with actor/filmmaker Ty Hodges, the creative vision for the film is both an expression of art and of his own personal journey as an actor/artist. Palm Trees and Powerlines is a soundscape for his feature film “Venus as a Boy” launching in June 2021 at the Tribeca Film Festival.
Shot over the course of 3 days in LA, I was inspired by the journey of Hunter in “Venus as a Boy” and Ty Hodges himself when designing the cinematic backdrop and costuming for Palmtrees and Powerlines. The film explores themes of identity, masculinity/femininity, sex, and love.
